Official fees

The Trademark Office will start examining the application only after payment of the official fees.

If the official fees are not paid within the period specified by the Office, the application will be deemed to be withdrawn. The trademark will then not be registered. When lawyers file the application for registration of the trademark, they will notify you of the relevant deadline for payment.

The official fees are as follows:

German Trademark application:

  • Application in up to 3 classes: € 290.-
  • Application in each additional class: € 100.-
  • Accelerated examination: € 200.-

EU Trade Mark application:

  • Application in first class: € 850.-
  • Application in second class: € 50.-
  • Application in each additional class: € 150.-

Renewal German Trademark:

  • Renewal in up to 3 classes: € 750.-
  • Renewal in each additional class: € 260.-

Renewal EU Trade Mark:

  • Renewal in first class: € 850.-
  • Renewal in second class: € 50.-
  • Renewal in each additional class: € 150.-

Together with our application fees, we charge € 290.- of official fees for a German trademark and € 850.- for an EU Trade Mark when we are retained by you. Should the official fees increase, we will inform you accordingly.
