Accelerated examination

If a request for accelerated examination is filed, the German Patent and Trade Mark Office will process the application with priority. A request for accelerated examination is subject to a fee. Once the fee has been paid, the Trade Mark Office will give priority to the application. The procedure should always be completed within six months, even in the event of processing bottlenecks or if the application is rejected. The request for accelerated examination may be filed at any time while the application procedure is ongoing.
